If you have any preexisting conditions that may be cause for concern, or if you have heart disease, hypertension, or any other serious medical condition you are required to consult with a doctor before using this mat in your sessions in addition to signing the waiver.

• Pregnant women, and those trying to conceive may not use the mat.

Specific contraindications for heat/hot stone therapy with the mat in addition to above:

• Recent chemotherapy, radiation or surgery

• Acute Fever

• Anorexia

• Arrhythmia patients could be at an especially high risk when receiving hot stone therapy

• Cardiac, Vascular Disease, Liver or Kidney Disorders: The increase of circulation and detoxification may harm these organs if they are not healthy or damaged.

• Children

• Chronic Headaches/Migraines - unless approved by your doctor

• Chronic High Blood Pressure - The increase in body temperature will increase blood pressure.

• Diabetes

• Dislike or Reaction to Heat

• Rheumatoid arthritis

• Epilepsy: The cause of this condition is still not known, however the increase of body temperature may trigger an attack.

• Menopause: Use with caution, assess clients individually.

• MS & Chronic Muscle Fatigue

• Organ Transplants, By-pass Surgery,  Pacemakers

• Osteoporosis - unless approved by your doctor

• Pregnancy: hot stone therapy will increase the body's temperature, which would not be beneficial for the fetus.

• Skin Infections/open Wounds/recent wounds, areas of weakened or inflamed skin - Heat is a significant catalyst for the growth, transfer and spread of infectious germs, bacteria and pathogens.

• Tumors, Cancer & Lymphedema - hot stone therapy, could spread cancer cells although no research has proven it. Also when under going chemotherapy the body is overloaded with chemicals, while the liver and kidneys are also overworked. Thus the immune system is weak and the body is more fragile.

• Blood Thinners: People taking these medications bleed and bruise easily.

• Steroids & Long term Cortisone: Patients  tend to develop sensitive skin, which reacts significantly to heat - unless approved by your doctor

• Varicose Veins: Heat and deep pressure to varicose veins are very dangerous.

• Deep vein thrombosis

• Vasospastic Disease :(Spasms of the blood vessels).

• Those who are nursing should not be exposed to the increased heat from the mat.

PEMF Cautions:

Pacemakers/Defibrillators – If you have a pacemaker, defibrillator or any type of similar implant, including those that release medication and/or insulin, we cannot use the PEMF feature as it may cause interference.

PEMF therapy is not suitable for those who are pregnant or trying to conceive.

This authorization must be sent directly from the physician or their staff—either by email from their official office address or by mail from the physician’s practice.

Tri Resonance can deny the use of the mat for any reason and at any time if staff have concerns.  If in doubt consult with your physician prior to use and obtain a signed approval, from your physician, authorizing the use of the mat. It must be provided to Tri Resonance prior to the first use and if anything in your health changes. You are required to notify Tri Resonance if anything changes.  Each client assumes full responsibility and all risk associated with the use of the mat, and agrees that they are using the mat knowing the listed cautions and agrees to not hold Tri Resonance liable should you have a negative experience of any kind.  As with all services provided by Tri Resonance, they are not a replacement for medical treatment.
